Tribute by Tony Cox 8 Platoon 3 RAR 1971 I would like to point out that Ron Betts died supporting 8 (Not 2) Platoon Charlie Company 3 RAR. I recall the event daily as I was there. Our sympathy has always been with Ron and FO David Freeman who crewed that day. David Paterson, the OC of 8 Platoon was KIA in that event also.
